This page facilitates downloads of industry standard file formatted (.odf) text documents of the Entire Bible (King James Version), any of the 66 books of the Bible, and a Harmony of the Gospels.
These documents were generated in Open Office (available free from openoffice.org) which runs on Linux and the other operating system. The files can be read and edited by any word processor that supports industry standard file formats (Yes, that includes the well known word processor (2007 and later) that only runs on the other operating system).
The reason for publishing the Bible this way is to help each Bible student create their own personal commentaries. The Harmony is an especially useful tool for studying the Gospel. Instructions are supplied for setting up a macro that creates a stylized footnote for making your comments to a given passage.
