Christianity is a STRANGE religion. The religions of the world can be identified with their unique Deity or Deities, Prophets, and Sacred Literature. Christianity is different.
Christianity has no Deity. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Israel, the God of the Jews has identified Himself as the One and Only God of Creation and of the entire universe. Since the position of God is filled, Christianity borrows the God of Israel for their Deity.
Isai. 43:10. Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isai. 43:11. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.
Christianity has no Prophets. The writers of the Old and New Testaments were all Jewish prophets. Minor exceptions were written by non Prophets under the authority of the Jewish Prophets. Christianity recognizes these Jewish Prophets as the vehicle for God’s revelation to man.
Roma. 3:1. What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Roma. 3:2. Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
Christianity has no Sacred Books. As noted above, Christianity borrows the collection of Sacred writings of the Jewish Prophets known as The Bible.
Christianity has no Savior figure. The Savior of Christianity is Jesus the Christ (Messiah) of Israel Who will one day set up His Kingdom in Jerusalem and establish peace for the nation of Israel and for the whole world as promised in God’s Holy Word.
Luke. 24:25. Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Luke. 24:26. Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
Luke. 24:27. And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
Christianity has inverted entrance requirements. The religions of the world require numerous entrance requirements: holiness, conformance to a certain code, birth, denunciations of certain foods, gifts of money, saying of oaths and declarations of loyalty. Christianity, on the other hand, has only one entrance requirement: self recognition of the unworthiness of the candidate, and accepting the worthiness of Christ in his place.
1Tim. 1:14. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
1Tim. 1:15. This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
